I like to walk the talk and don’t shy from taking drastic measures to reduce my carbon footprint while encouraging others to do the same.
I think that every little effort we, as individuals, make contributes towards creating a better environment for our future generations. Something as small as planting a tree goes a long way in helping and as long as we try, in whichever small way we can, our planet is in safe hands.
My last project and among my most memorable ones to date was based on how scrap metal can be recycled and used in different ways to cut both expenses and the use of virgin materials. One major drawback of this project was that there was a lot of scrap metal theft making it difficult to actually accomplish what I and the residence of that area has set out to do. This is one of the reasons why I wrote this article because even theft of this nature can harm the environment and people in an indirect way.
I also conduct two workshops – Watch your Wasteline on proper waste management for adults and Trash to Treasure on creative ways to use trash for children at local awareness raising events.
I think that people are of the opinion that recycling or frugal living is a waste of their time and I’m here to change that opinion by educating them on the fun and interesting ways in which you can make a difference.
Join me on my adventures as I explore the multitude of ways in which we can all GO GREEN!
